Lime Moiré Fused Glass Tray

Lime Moiré Fused Glass Tray is a vibrant, one-of-a-kind piece by Stella Schloss, created with an enhanced version of the fused glass Optical Illusion technique.

Stella carefully arranged two overlapping sets of slender glass stringers in fresh shades of lime green, teal, turquoise, and blue-green. The precise crisscross grid began with straight lines, but the heat of the kiln allowed the glass to soften and spread. As the layers moved, the grid transformed into a lively pattern of rounded shapes, curved intersections, and shifting lines.

The result is a fascinating moiré-style effect that appears to ripple and change as the tray is viewed from different angles. Some shapes seem to swell forward while others recede, giving the flat glass pattern an unexpected sense of depth and motion. The detailed technique rewards a closer look—this is not a piece the eye finishes exploring quickly.

Its gently curved rectangular shape makes Lime Moiré both functional and sculptural. Display it as a colorful centerpiece on a dining table, kitchen island, coffee table, entryway console, office credenza, or reception desk.
