Created by Artist-in-Residence Patty Heinen, this geometric showpiece is built through the meticulous on-the-edge method — a technique that demands razor-sharp cuts, perfect alignment, and the kind of patience only a true craftsperson possesses.  The pattern bar you see was handcrafted long before the final firing, each one layered, shaped, and cold-worked to bring this striking zig-zag architecture to life.

Bands of cream, ocean blue, sky blue, warm amber, and deep charcoal pull your eyes across the surface in rhythmic motion. As the light shifts, the raised edges and embedded pattern bars create dimensional shadows and subtle reflections, making this piece feel alive — almost like it’s breathing along with the room around it.
