What is Glass Arts Collective?
Glass Arts Collective is a working glass art studio and marketplace in Westlake Village, California, where people come to create, relax, and discover one-of-a-kind glass art. We offer beginner-friendly fused and stained glass classes, a marketplace filled with handmade artwork, all by artists associated with our studio, and a warm creative community.

Do I need experience to take a class?
Not at all — our classes are designed for complete beginners. We guide you step-by-step, and you’ll leave with a piece that’s beautiful, finished, and uniquely yours. If you can dream it, we’ll help you shape it in glass.
What types of classes do you offer?
We offer a variety of beginner-friendly classes in primarily in fused glass and now an introductory stained glass. You can explore all of our class options here.

How do I book a class?
All classes are booked online through our scheduling partner, FareHarbor. Simply visit our Classes page, choose a project you love, pick a date, and reserve your spot.
What is included in a class?
Every class includes instruction, tools, studio time, safety materials, and a beautiful selection of glass you need for your project. No hidden fees — just show up ready to play with color, texture, and creativity.
Can I take home my artwork the same day?
Fused glass pieces need time in the kiln, usually 3–7 days depending on size and thickness. Stained glass projects are completed in-class. We’ll email you when your finished fused piece is ready for pickup.
What Is The youngest age you teach?
Classes and workshops at Glass Arts Collective are restricted to those who are 7 years of age or older for Fused Glass and 13 for Stained Glass, except where noted. An adult must accompany individuals under the age of 13.
How do gift cards work?
You can purchase digital gift cards can be used for classes or Marketplace purchases. The are available through our Book A Class . They arrive instantly by email and never expire.
We also have plastic gift cards available in our studio at 31139 Via Colinas, Unit 201, Westlake Village, CA - please check the studio hours.
Do you have accessibility accommodations?
Yes — we want everyone to feel welcome. If you need accommodations or have mobility questions, feel free to contact us before your visit.
How long does fused glass firing take?
Most pieces require one to two kiln cycles. Each firing is around 18–24 hours, plus cooling. Larger or deeper pieces may require additional time.
What safety precautions do you follow?
We provide safety goggles, tools, and a clean, organized workspace. Instructors guide you through safe glass-handling techniques every step of the way.
How can I stay updated on new classes and artwork?
Join our newsletter, follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, and check our Marketplace for newly added artwork from our Artists-in-Residence.
With several artists, there are new items being added to marketplace frequently.
Is glass fusing an expensive hobby?
Glass fusing can be an investment, especially if you’re planning to set up a full home studio with your own kiln and tools. However, it doesn’t have to be expensive to get started — and there are flexible options depending on how you want to learn and create.
At Glass Arts Collective, we help make glass art more accessible in several ways:
Classes are a great entry point. All materials, tools, and kiln firing are included, so you can explore glass fusing without any upfront equipment costs.
Open Studio programs allow you to rent workspace in our well-equipped studio once you’re ready to work more independently.
Glass is available by the square inch, so you can buy exactly what you need instead of purchasing large sheets.
Tools are included, and kiln use is priced based on the size of your piece.
If you work from home, you can bring your artwork to us for firing, so owning a kiln isn’t required.
Whether you’re taking a class, using Open Studio, or working from home, you can enjoy glass fusing without making a large investment upfront — and grow into it at your own pace.

Studio FAQs
Do you create custom glass art?
Every piece at Glass Arts Collective is one-of-a-kind, and we love creating custom works inspired by your ideas. Whether it’s a design based on one of our sold pieces or something completely new, we’ll collaborate with you to make it uniquely yours.
Do you sell fused glass supplies and tools?
We sell Bullseye Glass fusible and non-fusible glass, glass frit, stringers, scrap glass, and other glass materials. We also stock tools and other consumables used in glassmaking. We will also be stocking other items, such as display stands and glass embellishment accessories. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, let us know.
Bullseye Sheet Glass
We offer a large variety of Bullseye sheet glass. Many special production and ‘limited’ edition sheets. Sold by the square inch, unless it will impact a design
Special Accessory Glass
We have created a variety of special pieces to enhance your pieces. Some are wafer (thin pieces), others are pieces that are tack or fully fused flowers, sea life, trees, and so much more. The list keeps growing, and we’re open to creating special items you need for your art piece.

Is fused glass food safe?
Glass Arts Collective uses Bullseye Glass for all fused glass projects. The folllowing information is from Bullseye Glass Company.
Is Bullseye glass food safe?
Listed below are the Bullseye glasses that contain more than 1.0% lead or more than 0.5% cadmium. If you use any of these styles for food-bearing objects, we recommend capping them with Bullseye Clear Glass.
In our testing, we have found that clear-capping results in minimal lead and cadmium leaching — well below FDA limits. In our testing, we have also found that transparent glasses leach lead/cadmium at levels below FDA limits, and much less than opalescent lead/cadmium-bearing glasses; so you may be able to use transparent lead/cadmium-bearing glasses without clear-capping.
A local chemistry lab should be able to perform the necessary test for you, according to ASTM C738-94(2006) Standard Test Method for Lead and Cadmium Extracted from Glazed Ceramic Surfaces.

What is your return policy?
Return & Refund Policy
At Glass Arts Collective, each piece of artwork is thoughtfully handmade, and many pieces are one-of-a-kind. We want you to feel confident purchasing art from us, so our return and refund policy is designed to care for our customers while respecting the work of our artists.
Damaged or Defective Items
If your item arrives damaged or defective, please contact Glass Arts Collective within 48 hours of delivery.
Please email info@glassartscollective.com and include your order number, clear photos of the item, packaging, and shipping label. We will work with you to resolve the issue.
Other Eligible Returns
For online purchases, return requests must be initiated within 7 days of delivery.
For in-store purchases, return requests must be initiated within 7 days of purchase.
Once a return has been approved, the item must be shipped back within 7 days of return approval.
Returned items must be unused, in their original condition, and securely packaged to prevent damage during return shipping.
Returns

Approved return items must:
Be unused and in their original condition
Show no signs of damage, wear, or alteration
Be returned in the original packaging or comparable secure packaging
Be shipped back within 7 days of return approval
How to Request a Return
Email info@glassartscollective.com with your order number, the reason for the return, and any supporting photos or information.
Once your return is approved, we will provide return instructions.
For non-defective returns, customers are responsible for return shipping costs.
We do not charge a restocking fee.
Refunds
Once your returned item has been received and inspected, we will notify you of the status of your refund.
Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 14 days.
Exchanges
We accept exchanges when a suitable replacement piece is available. Because many of our artworks are one-of-a-kind, an exact product-for-product exchange may not always be possible.
If you would prefer another piece:
If the replacement item is the same price, we can arrange a direct exchange.
If the replacement item costs less, the difference will be refunded to your original payment method.
If the replacement item costs more, we will provide an invoice for the additional amount.
Availability of replacement artwork cannot be guaranteed.
Gifts
If you received an item as a gift, an approved return may be issued as store credit rather than a refund to the original payment method.
Class Reservations
Class reservations are separate from artwork purchases.
Classes may be rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice.

Do you sell finished glass artwork?
Yes! Our Marketplace features one-of-a-kind glass art handcrafted by our Artists-in-Residence. Everything is made locally and thoughtfully curated — including functional pieces, decorative designs, and collectible art.
Can you ship artwork?
Absolutely. We ship nationwide using ShipStation/Shippo for careful packaging and multi-carrier shipping options. Your artwork travels safely, and you’ll receive tracking the moment it’s on its way.
Insurance is included in shipping costs for all shipments.

Do you offer private events or group workshops?
Yes! We host birthdays, corporate team-building events, bridal showers, friend-night-out workshops, and more. Private groups can choose a specific project theme and schedule a time that works for them.

Do you offer team-building events?
Corporations and businesses can utilize them as team-building exercises or just a fun afternoon away from the office. There’s a lot to be said for bringing a team together outside the office.
The commodore and opening communication lines are greatly enhanced by team-building events that aren’t just sitting at a table having lunch or listening to a lecture.

What is the Open Studio policy?
ELIGIBILITY
Open Studio is available to any client who has, at our discretion, achieved the skills required to complete their desire project(s). No instruction is offered during Open Studio.
COST
There are 3 membership options:
- Basic: Pay-As-You-Go rate is $25 per hour with a 2-hour minimum.
- The 30-Day-Period rate is $200, billed at the beginning of your 30-day period. No refunds for partial months. This is for those who aren’t interested in continuous membership.
Members must register for studio time, available on the website. Studio time includes use of hand tools, safety glasses, molds, glue, and access to grinders in the cold room. Glass Arts Collective (GAC), staff, and guest instructors, (hereinafter referred to as “Released Parties”) are not responsible for any damage caused by anyone using its tools, molds, equipment, or results of firing issues.
Members are responsible for the cost of fixing or replacing damage to equipment or molds caused by misuse.
ADDITIONAL FEES
All glass – scrap, frit, stringers, rods, ribbons, etc. Some items are sold by weight.
Kiln firing is based on size and special schedules, as well as any additional firing paper.
Stained glass, glass, foil, solder, patina, wax, cleaning materials, and other tangible supplies.
Mosaic glass – glass, base piece, grout, and other tangible supplies.
OPEN STUDIO RULES
- Reservations are required and can be scheduled on our website. Scheduling is done in 2-hour increments. Scheduling is done via our Booking Tool - from our website you can see Book A Class or Book Now. There is a section for Open Studio.
- Safety glasses are to be worn when cutting glass and working in the cold room.
- Safety must always be a priority!
- No touching other’s projects without permission.
- Hair should be pulled back and not loose near the equipment.
- Loose clothing should be pushed up and out of the way of equipment.
- Open Studio members are required to clean up their workspaces. Wipe down tables, equipment, and if a mess was created on the floor around you, sweep as well. Ensure the chair is clear of any glass.
- Ensure all cold room equipment has adequate water for their project or the equipment will get damaged.
- If you’ve done a lot of grinding on the smaller grinders, you should lift off the cover and clean out all the glass dust collected. It doesn’t have to be perfectly clean, but it makes a difference in the performance of the machines.
- If you are storing glass and supplies, your name should be clearly marked on your containers and glass. GAC is not responsible for any damage or misplaced items.
- Class projects have priority for kiln firing space. Open Studio will be accommodated as quickly as possible.
- Projects that require a special firing schedule should be discussed and approved prior to starting any project to ensure the schedule can be accommodated.
- Storage space is only available to continuous monthly members, based on space availability.
- Trays in the cookie rack should be used for projects in progress, or ready for kiln space. A project sheet is required, including date, how it is to be fired, and/or slumped with the mold number, and a description of your pieces. These are not for storing glass.
MARKETPLACE
- There is a 6-month waiting period before the Continuous Members have the option (this is at the discretion of the management) to put some of their art in the Marketplace. Pricing is to be discussed between GAC and the members. GAC will retain a portion of the sales as an administrative fee, 25% of base price. Occasionally, the studio has a sale in the Marketplace, members will be asked if they want to participate in the sale. There are no issues if you’re also listing your items for sale on your site. We will stay in touch, so we know which items have sold.
- Due to the limited space available in the in-store gift shop. We will put things online and the members will be responsible for storing the pieces at home. Equally important, when it sells, the member will need to bring it into the studio immediately for the staff to pack and ship.
- If the ‘member’ sells the piece themselves, they need to let the staff know ASAP so that it can be removed from the gift shop.
- Commissions calculated will be distributed by the end of the following month.
OPEN STUDIO HOURS
- The hours are not fixed dates and times, due to special events and parties. We will continue to offer open studio times as frequently as possible.
- To ensure you have space, be sure you sign up on the calendar at least 24 hours in advance. If you have free time, you’re welcome to call and check if there’s space available.
Glass Arts Collective reserves the right to terminate any membership if policies are not adhered to or equipment and/or the studio are misused in any way, without any refunds.

What is art with glass called?
Art created with glass is generally called art glass, an umbrella term that includes many different techniques and styles. The specific name often depends on how the glass is formed or shaped.
Some common types of glass art include:
Fused Glass – Pieces of glass are layered and melted together in a kiln to create plates, bowls, panels, and sculptural forms.
Stained Glass – Colored glass pieces are cut and joined with lead or copper foil, often used in windows and decorative panels.
Glassblowing – Molten glass is shaped by blowing air through a pipe, creating vessels and sculptural forms.
Lampworking (Flameworking) – Glass rods or tubes are melted and shaped using a torch to create beads, small sculptures, and detailed components.
