Classes & Experiences

Working with glass isn’t just a skill — it’s a way to relax, let go of stress, and reconnect with creativity.

What is Fused Glass?

Also known as Glass Fusion, Warm Glass, or Kiln Forming, fused glass is the art of layering glass pieces together and heating them in a kiln until they melt, or “fuse,” into a single piece. With this technique, you can create bowls, plates, trays, jewelry, decorative panels, and sculptural works.

Experience

Fused Glass at Glass Arts Collective

Most classes are 2–3 hours long, each designed to introduce you to one or two new techniques. Because fused glass pieces must be fired in a kiln, you won’t take your project home the same day. Instead, we’ll carefully fire your work and text you with a picture once it’s ready — usually about a week later — so your new piece of art can find its home with you.  In the introductory classes you’ll be working with straight lines.  Making suncatcher, plant stakes, or coasters.

📌 Prerequisite for all fused glass classes:
Introduction to Fused Glass or Slump and Drape Class (or equivalent experience).

Stained Glass at Glass Arts Collective

Our stained glass program focuses on the timeless copper foil method, where each piece of glass is carefully cut, edged with copper foil, and soldered together to create luminous works of art. Students learn how to shape glass, apply foiling, and solder seams to bring their designs to life.  In the introductory class – you’ll be working with straight lines and making a decorative panel.

Most stained glass classes run 3 hours and are designed to give you hands-on practice with key techniques. Unlike fused glass, stained glass projects are completed in class — so you’ll take your finished piece home the very same day.

📌 Prerequisite for stained glass classes:
Introduction to Stained Glass (or equivalent experience).

From sun catchers and ornaments to windows and decorative panels, stained glass offers endless opportunities to explore color, light, and pattern.
